Synopsis:

Set in the aftermath of September 11th, no news... is an Arab-American woman’s personal reflection on the cycles of violence, war and terrorism that have plagued both the U.S. and the Middle East and their repercussions in her family history.

Filmmaker's Bio:

Born and raised in Mosul, Iraq and Beirut, Lebanon, Bushra Azzouz is an Arab-American filmmaker who has worked with Native American women, native villages in Borneo and her own family to tell stories of their homes and lives. She teaches at the Northwest Film Center in Portland, Oregon and has researched and developed models for community media in collaboration with the regional Metro government. This past summer, she has been working with nine to eleven years-old creating shadow/dream films and with homeless youth interpreting their short personal poems of life in the city on film.
