Biography: |
| After
studying Film at the Université Paris VIII, Hala worked as
assistant director to Abdellatif Abdul-Hamid on his first films. She
was the costume designer for Mohamma Malas' The Night, Oussama
Mohammad's Sacrifices and Nidal el-Debs' Under the Ceiling.
She is also one of Syria's prominent poets with four published collections.
Her films include Qat‘at Halwa (A Piece of Sweet, 2006),
Rihla fi al-Thakira (Journey into Memory, 2006) they are
documentaries on political prisoners in Syria, and If Qassyoon
Got Tired (2006), an interview with veteran Syrian auteur Mohammad
al-Maghout who died in the spring of 2006. |
