Biography:
Shirine Sharifemami-Gill was born in Teheran, Iran in1947. She was educated in England and France and received a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies at Columbia University. She has traveled extensively as a photojournalist to Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Latin America. Her work is in the photography collection of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and has been included in the International Photography show in Paris, and AIPAD in New York and has been shown by Sarah Morthland Gallery and Kennedy Boesky Gallery in New York and by Carrington Gallery in San Antonio. It also appeared in "The Antiquarian Avant-Garde" by Lyle Rexer in 2000.
