Biography:
Born in Cairo, Egypt in 1963, Khaled Hafez is a painter, mixed media and video artist, and art writer. He studied medicine at Azhar University in Cairo as well as pursuing studies at Cairo Fine Arts. He has presented his work in ten solo exhibitions and numerous group shows, including Cairo Modern Art in Holland and the 2004 Dakar International Biennale, where he won a Mediterranean Prize for Painting for his painting and film Idlers' Logic. Since1995, Hafez has been writing regularly for Middle East Times, Egypt Today, and contributes occasionally to several other publications, such as Pose, Cairo Times, NKA (New York), as well as independent texts for artists catalogues
