Synopsis
Using both 16mm and HDV, the filmmaker journeys into the heart of war-stricken areas to capture the experience of terror in the raw, questioning the documentary genre and its ability to mediate the immediate experience of witnessing death.
Filmmaker's Biography
WAEL NOUREDDINE graduated from the Sorbonne with a degree in Cinema Studies. He has directed Chez nous à Beyrouth(2001), Ce sera beau (from Beirut with Love, 2005), and July Trip(2006), a trilogy about Lebanon that dwells on the physical and mental scars from the country’s wars and conflicts. In 2005, he contributed to the publication Cinema/Politique(with Jean-Luc Godard, Philippe Grandieux, F.J. Ossang, Lou Castel and Lionel Soukas).
