War Time, Peace Time is Lebanese artist Jean-Marc Nahas’ first solo show inLondon. The exhibition features two recent series of drawings based on hiscoming of age during the Lebanese civil war.As a teenager Jean-Marc Nahas witnessed scenes of torture and death that haunt him to this day. In small black and white drawings he flashbacksto these events, while in his more colorful drawings he depicts scenes ofeveryday life during and after the war.Jean-Marc Nahas was born in Beirut in 1963. He studied at the Ecole nationaleSupérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and later moved to Canada. He currently lives and works in Lebanon.
